2. On the Saturday we took the children to a local country park and let them loose with their scooters. It was a bit chilly out but once we set off in pursuit of the scootin' loons we soon warmed up! Good exercise that was. We also found a rope swing in the trees alongside the path we were walking so the kids took turns on that, although it did swing precariously close to one tree in particular and I was concerned about one of my boys (it's always the boys) having a "George of the Jungle" moment and slamming face first in to it... Luckily, this did not occur and we left the park with everyone in one piece. It was so much fun, and best of all, FREE!
3. And finally, I am also cheerful that the kids are going back to school on Monday! I love having them home (mostly because it means no school runs, uniform washing, lunch packing etc!) but they are starting to get on each others nerves, yesterday Logan and Harrison irritated each other all day! They are looking forward to getting back to school and seeing their friends, and having some time away from each other! It'll be nice to have my one-on-one time with Erica again too. And to put my house back together...
Sounds like you've had a fun few days! The cake looks yummy! I know what you mean about being glad when they go home, I can't stand the fighting and arguing (plus the mess that two in particular keep making). I'm glad you had a fun holiday as well. I noticed your in our house.. on the left and I think it's brilliant. I might just borrow that and print it out to go on our wall
ReplyDeleteThe cake looks yummy, I've got to make one like that for an Easter party tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had some lovely quality time together as a family and that cake looks delicious! The OH cooked me a roast Sunday too, i hate to admit it but he's far better in the kitchen than me! xxx
ReplyDeleteYour Sunday lunch sounds fab!
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of going out and enjoying the local areas, I always get caught up in shopping / outings into town that I forget how much kids love nature, jumping in puddles and swinging from trees!
Sounds like a good time was had by all - my children are all beginning to bicker now as well!
ReplyDeleteSuperb, sounds like a fab Easter. Enjoy the peace when they are back at school! Mich x
