Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

Welcome to week 18 of #R2BC, a big thank you to the host & creator Michelle at MFTH, don't forget to pop over and have a read of her reasons to be cheerful this week too, as well as all the other lovely bloggers who will be linking up below.

1. First things first, I am so grateful to everyone who took the time to call, text and message to wish Erica a happy birthday last Friday. She had a lovely day and got some wonderful presents and had lots of family and friends make the effort to visit and spend time with her on her special day. We visited a soft play with two of my sisters and their children during the day time as the weather wasn't good enough for our original plans, and then had tea & birthday cake with my parents in the evening, and had visits from Erica's Godmother 'Aunty Kath' and another of my sisters and her daughters during the course of the afternoon. I have a wonderful family and I am delighted that they helped make my baby's day a special one for her.

2. Another reason to be cheerful is that I have managed to get my two youngest boys in for swimming lessons at last, they're always full! Harrison has had two lessons so far and is loving them, he's learning so fast and is thoroughly enjoying it, he gets on well with his group and his teacher is great. Logan starts his on May 14th and will be having 1:2:1 lessons with an instructor for the disabled for the time being to build his water confidence and get him used to the sensation of water in the pool, because while he enjoys swimming, he can find it difficult to feel comfortable in the water. I am hoping that eventually he will be able to join a group lesson like Harrison.

3. Last but not least, the children have been achieving great things at school this week. Alicia received high marks (3rd in her class) in her maths exam and was also awarded a certificate for her great attendance. Joshua has received high praise for his recent work in class, Logan has moved up another three levels in his reading, and Harrison has been getting top marks in his weekly spelling tests. One very proud mummy right here :)

I won't be 'with you' next week as I am off for a week on Monday, so I hope everyone has a fantastic week with lots of reasons to be cheerful, and I will *see* you when I get back!

  1. Great reasons to be cheerful this week. Happy birthday to Erica, and wonderful news about the swimming lessons. :) And well done on all the kids' achievements!

Enjoy your time away! I hope you have ample time to relax.

  2. What a lovely week full of achievements! Have a great holiday xx

  3. Yay for the great marks and other achievements! <3 Happy Birthday Erica!

  4. Wonderful Reasons to be Cheerful! My son screamed for the first year that we took him swimming, now it's his most favourite thing in the world. Can't get him into the water enough. Looking forward to our holiday this year, he can spend all day everyday in the pool, and we have got extended family to help with lifting and caring for him :-) Have a fantastic week off!

  5. Hey, great news all around :0) And swimming is lots of fun and exercise.

  6. Fab news about your kids achievements. Hope you are having a wonderful time away. Mich x
