#R2BC - Reasons to be cheerful... 1, 2, 3

Thursday, 19 July 2012

Another week has passed and here we are again. I am delighted to have been invited to guest host #R2BC during the summer by the lovely linky creator Michelle at Mummy From The Heart so be sure to look out for that, as well as showing support and visiting the other guest hosts during the holidays.

So what is there to be cheerful for this week? Well...

1. *looks around suspiciously, leans in, whispers*... "They" say the jet stream is moving, and that the rain looks like it is going to start easing off from next week! Summer might possibly be on its way! Don't hold your breath, but have your paddling pools ready just in case...

2. TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY OF TERM!! *dances* no more uniform washes, packed lunches, assemblies, sports days or generally school faffing-aboutness for the next six weeks. AND I managed to get all of the kids school shoes for under £50 after a friend on Facebook posted a fantastic promo code for Brantano (which I tweeted yesterday, for any eagle eyed readers) and I got them all half price, branded items too.

3. My fabulous mister has booked us tickets to go and see The Lion King at the theatre on my 30th birthday. He's whisking me off and treating me to some shopping, a leisurely lunch, dinner and a show, and then a night in a hotel (where we be making the most of it... and SLEEPING, without our bed being invaded and then getting kicked all night) before heading back home Sunday morning. Hopefully we will do something all together as a family to celebrate on the Sunday too though we haven't planned anything yet. He knew how much it meant to me for this birthday to be special as I was pregnant with J on my 18th birthday and had recently given birth to L on my 21st, so this one is all mine and I cannot wait to be spoiled for the day.

  1. I need that promo code *goes to julies twitter* ;D And I LOVE the Lion King, awesome!!!! I am SO hoping summer is on it's way, this weather totally sucks, I can't get washing dry.. well I could but using a drier in July is so very wrong lol. xx

  2. Aww the 30th birthday plans sound lovely - I hope you have a great time, the shows is meant to be incredible.
I'm hoping the sunshine makes an appearance soon too and I'm so glad of the 6 week break :) x

  3. They are some fab reasons to be cheerful! Hope you have a great time at the Lion King and will look out for you hosting soon!

  4. Have a wonderful birthday. You deserve it as it sounds like you battle with many of the things I do on a daily basis. Here's to escaping the school stuff for a while too!

  5. I Love your First...I'm hosting as well *dances around room*, bargain on the shoes, little man wont get new ones til nearer the time as last year he grew so much, they didn't fit him to go to school.

And the Lion King well I wont spoil it but I can say Its amazing (have seen it twice), have a great birthday xxx

  6. Wow the Lion King. I've heard it's amazing. Very jealous but have a great time.

  7. Don't blame you on no.3! A heavenly nights sleep is worth a lot.

  8. I would LOVE to go see the Lion King in theater! I'm assuming this isn't the animated movie but the live performance correct?

I wish I could trade you the sun for your rain over here in the states. We need rain dearly over here!!! Don't you dislike weather in excess? Too much of anything becomes a terrible thing!

  9. No wonder you have such a big smile on your face! I am hoping for sun too!

  10. I so hope the weather does get nicer for the holidays! SO fed up of all this rain and black skies!
