Good morning and welcome to week 33 of #R2BC, which I have been given the honour of guest hosting this week by Michelle as she enjoys her summer break. Next week the link will be hosted by the lovely Becky at Lakes Single Mum.
It has been a busy week (when isn't it?!) and we are SO excited about our visit to Paultons Park & Peppa Pig World this weekend to celebrate L's birthday on Sunday (and belatedly, E's birthday). The weather is so far looking good and we hope it will be a great family day out.
1. This week the Mister and I were lucky enough to manage a trip to the cinema together. The Mister chose The Dark Knight Rises and we got a free popcorn using my O2 Priority Moments app on my phone (those on O2 should definitely download this app to enjoy money off and freebies!) to go with our drink & munchies.
It was a good movie, I really enjoyed it but it was very long and I had a seriously numb backside going on by the time the credits rolled. We had a really nice evening out together.
2. We have also enjoyed a family trip to the cinema, when we went to watch The Lorax. It was E's first time at the cinema and she did great, she very much enjoyed stuffing in the popcorn and watching the bright colours on the screen. The musical numbers were brilliant, I wrote a personal review of The Lorax, I would definitely recommend it. We're hoping to go and see Disney's Brave before the end of the summer too.
3. We are just about ready for 'back to school' now, only a couple of things left to get before we are all set. Before I know it, it will be time to send them back off to start the new school year, with A beginning her GCSEs in year 10 and J starting secondary school in year 7. Lots of new challenges to await them both, as well as L & H in years 5 and 2 respectively. I am also going to be enjoying this final year with E at home with me before she begins nursery next year. I know it is a cliché but I honestly don't know where the time goes, I can't believe half the summer has passed already. Fingers crossed for some decent stretches of good weather before the end of it!
Thanks again to Michelle for inviting me to host her linky this week, please be sure to visit those who have linked up and share some comment love. Have a great weekend everyone.

What a lovely week including not one but TWO cinema visits. Too early to be thinking about going back to school for the children, though. How long till the summer holidays end? A busy year ahea.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got some cinema trips in and was enjoying your post until you mentioned back to school. Aaarrgh - one more thing to get sorted

ReplyDeleteAren't the holiday's flying by?! My son will be starting pre-school in September so we're making the most of the summer too. Lucky you for having two cinema trips, I miss going to the cinema! x
ReplyDeleteBrilliant job, thanks so much. I hope you have a wonderful time this weekend at Peppa Pig world, we have been there a few times and the kids adore it. Mich x
ReplyDeleteWow, trips to the cinema - I live in hope! So glad you have had a great week and have a wonderful weekend to look forward to. Hope L has a fantastic birthday on Sunday too xx
ReplyDeleteIt has been so nice to be able to go and watch some of the new releases, it normally happens like that - we'll watch several in a matter of weeks and then it will be months before we manage to get there again! It's been handy having so many good kids films on during the summer with this rubbish weather!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle, we are really excited about going! And you're welcome, it has been a pleasure to host for you x
