This photo (a genuine polaroid shot, scanned in from my parents photo album, no effects bar a crop and adding the text) is of the four of us girls when I was just a toddler - big J, then me (little J), then L and finally N in the blue. Every time I see it it makes me smile. Memories of days spent running through fields, climbing trees, sledding down hills, cow pat flinging (best not to ask) and growing up in a big traditional family, sitting down to dinner every night together, baking with my mum, nan and sisters (yes, very 'Little House' on the Prairie I know), family holidays and days out. I do try and emulate many aspects of my upbringing in my own parenting, because I remember how happy those days were and I really want the same for my kids.
I'm lucky in that I have great memories of my childhood, our parents did everything they could to bring us up well and they made sure that we had everything we needed even when they had to go without. I can't thank them enough for everything they have done for us, for me, and I really hope we've done them proud.

Lovely! What a fantastic childhood :)
