Mama OWL Blog: Aunt Bessie's Roast Potatoes

Aunt Bessie's Roast Potatoes

This is a sponsored post.

Regular readers will know that we always have a roast dinner every week. The Mister is the Sunday chef in our house because it's my "day off" from the cooking, and he lovingly cooks our traditional roast to perfection while the rest of us put our feet up and enjoy the day of rest.

The Mister's favourite part of a Roast, aside from the joint of meat of course, is the roast potatoes. They have to be lovely & crisp on the outside, and light & fluffy on the inside and his absolute favourite type of 'roastie' is one that has been basted in duck fat. Normally something that we'd reserve for Christmas time, the duck fat roastie is a weekly visitor to our dinner table now & is a firm favourite.

Like the family in the new advert from Aunt Bessie's, we enjoy all of our meals around the table as a family and Sunday is definitely the kids favourite day, we talk about what is coming up that week and what we've done the week before and really bond over our meals, if there was one thing that I have kept from my own childhood it is the importance of sitting down & sharing meals together.

Aunt Bessie's & the Mama Owl household share the same values about 'Roastiness' and believe in warm, comforting, homely family food that is enjoyed together, which is why Aunt Bessie's Roast Potatoes come with added roastiness.

  2. I think they have coined the term 'roastiness' perfectly. It's what family meals are all about.
