Just an FYI - I do not go into detail about the plots of the books as I would hate to spoil them for anyone who wants to read them, so I will keep mostly to sharing my opinion on them with possibly a brief outline, rather than describing what happens, for the benefit of others.
Book 8 - A Very Accidental Love Story by Claudia Carroll
Overall this was an okay light read, but it was rather far-fetched & quite predictable with a smattering of inconsistencies that I did find a bit annoying after a while. This is about a high-powered business woman who has a baby by sperm donor, and then tracks down the father after her extraordinarily loquacious toddler asks about him. I bought it as it was on offer on Kobo books, and admittedly I probably wouldn't have bought it otherwise. Not terrible, but a bit waffly, and probably best kept for a holiday read.
Book 9 - Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
After seeing the trailer for the Beautiful Creatures movie I have been compelled to read the books (I simply must read the books before seeing the movies, it's my rule). I finished the first of the books in the Caster Chronicles series in a couple of days, reading whenever I had a spare moment, and really enjoyed it. A clever Southern gothic style story with a new & interesting take on the paranormal genre, I'm looking forward to reading the rest of them (and then watching the film!).

Quite a few people I know are reading those Beautiful Creature books xx

They are really good, I'd not even heard of them before I saw the movie trailer so I'm pleased to have found them x
