#R2BC - Reasons to be Cheerful... 1, 2, 3

Happy Thursday, I hope everyone has had a good week. Half term is next week and I have to say I am very much looking forward to a week 'off' with the kids without the rigmarole of the school routine, and I'm hoping to fit in some fun stuff, weather permitting.

If you would like to join in with Michelle's weekly #R2BC blog hop just link your post up and jump right in.

1. On Tuesday we celebrated J's 12th birthday. I remember writing the post for his birthday last year and I can't really believe an entire year has passed since then, it has just gone by so quickly. He of course had school but he opened his presents in the morning and was delighted with his new phone & Hotel Transylvania DVD (J is a big Adam Sandler fan), and the Mister told him that he's taking him up to Old Trafford to watch Manchester Utd play!

He's been to Wembley to watch England several times but this will be his first visit to Old Trafford & he's very excited, he'll also be having a stadium tour that he received as a Christmas gift from the Mister's brother & SIL and they'll make a weekend of it. We sang happy birthday after dinner and watched the movie together, it was a lovely evening.

2. This week I was delighted to be involved with #GoodWork by #TeamHonk for Comic Relief. I shared my own experience of doing something 'funny for money' way back in 1995 (complete with a picture of me in a bath of tomato soup!), and the digital postcard from Ghana I received from Team Honk as part of the celebrations of the 25 wonderful years of fundraising by Comic Relief for projects both here in the United Kingdom and in Africa. Such a difference has been made, let's all keep up the good work!

3. I've been nominated in four categories for the 2013 MAD Blog Awards, in Family Fun, Family Life, Schooldays and also Blog of The Year! I'm so thrilled, thank you so much to everyone who voted for me I am so grateful and really pleased that others enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it!

If you would like to nominate me for a MAD Blog Award you can do so at www.the-mads.com or by clicking the badge up in the top corner of my blog. There are SO many amazing blogs and writers in the blogosphere that it is an honour to even be nominated alongside them. Thanks again, it really means a lot to me.

What are your reasons to be cheerful this week?
