What really hits home for me now is knowing how close we are to the next stage of childhood. E might only be 3 (though she turns 4 next month!), but come September I will have more kids in senior school than in primary, we're already talking driving lessons and universities and mopeds (J, of course).
One day soon, they will be off doing different things with different people and the times they spend together will be few and far between. The innocence and fun of a simple family afternoon at the park on the swings or climbing trees will be long gone, and then before we know it they will be there with their own kids. It has come around all too quickly for my liking.
So, as I was saying -
Enjoy it while it lasts, because it doesn't last nearly long enough.
