School Shoe Shopping with Clarks

review post.

I have to admit... Come the end of term, the kids uniforms have definitely seen better days. The trousers are raggedy around the ankles (or they look like they've had an argument with their ankles...) with the faint whisper of grass stains around the knees no matter how many times you wash them, the polo shirts are a bit misshapen and faded, and the shoes... Oh the shoes! Just... don't get me started on the shoes.

I took H along to The Clarks Shop in town to replace his school shoes, because he had managed to literally rip the bottom out of his current pair. I cannot even imagine what he must do to them to cause that, have his chums drag him around the playground? Just how?! I despair!

My boys are all very tough on their shoes and always manage to get through several pairs throughout the school year. I am hoping that H will keep his new pair in good condition until at least after Christmas - I'll keep you updated! The store was quiet (probably due to the very busy street market going on just outside) which meant that we didn't have to wait to speak to an assistant. It's worth noting that you are able to book fitting appointments online via the Clarks website to avoid any unnecessary waiting around.

A lady named Kim approached us and we explained that we were looking for some school shoes for H, and so she set about setting up their fab new high-tech measuring system which my boys were very impressed with.

H has very wide feet, so she recommended the best fitting using the measurements given by the equipment, with plenty of room so that he won't have outgrown them by the time the new term starts in September!

The assistant brought us a selection of three different types of school shoe, and H chose his favourite from those three, a sporty looking pair called Air Suffolk BL. He tried them on and Kim checked the fitting, and then H had a wander around the shop before reporting back that he was happy with them and that they were comfortable. He also insisted on wearing them home!

Kim bagged his trainers for us and using the £40 vouchers sent to us by Clarks, we purchased H's new school shoes for a total of £48. We left the shop with a very happy boy, and as very satisfied customers.

We received gift vouchers to use at Clarks for the purpose of this post. The views shared are my own personal & honest opinions and written in my own words. All links are no-follow.
