004 - It's back to school time tomorrow after a lovely lazy Winter break so the books and laptop are out and studying is in progress ready for AS mocks during the week. Lots of pressure on young shoulders but she's a smart kid and as long as she stays focused she'll do just fine.
005 - Back to U14 Football training for J and the Mister after the Christmas break. I had to lurk around in the car park like some sort of weirdo after walking there to meet them after my welcome meeting at P6P & arriving early.
006 - And so begins C25K, week 1 day 1 completed but unfortunately managed to seriously shred my heels with new trainers. Limped through my P6P fitness test but did my best, so far so good.
007 - Making better choices for my meals, drinking lots of water and not having chocolate, junk or fizzy drinks. I feel better already. I tried out this chicken & apple stir-fry recipe (with red onions, garlic & a sprinkling of cinnamon) for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how great it tasted.
008 - Our first week getting back to reality also means back to sporting activities, and Thursday was E's first day back in the gym after Christmas. She really enjoyed seeing her friends and getting on the equipment again, she's really very good on the bars and loves swinging around and flinging herself over them!
009 - On our walk back from L's usual Friday evening swimming lesson, the church spire through the trees was all lit up and looked beautiful in the twilight.
010 - I'm usually a white & two sugars kinda gal, but I am embracing black coffee and finding that I actually prefer it this way. My VonShef coffee machine is my best friend, I love having a steaming pot of coffee ready in the mornings when I get up.
Love the look of that stir fry. Shame your trainers hurt your feet but well done on tackling C25K, not sure I could do it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am enjoying it much more than I thought I would, I just wish my feet didn't hurt!
Deletewell done on starting getting healthy, that chicken and apple stir fry sounds amazing!! Love the photo with the church, such a lovely view x
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm feeling so much better for it too. x
DeleteThere is a lot of pressure on children now for GCSE's and A Levels and it's such a shame. I'm sure she'll be fine :-) Well done for starting C25K! I tried this week but chickened out of the weather!! Look forward to reading about your progress :)
ReplyDeleteThere is, she has spent so much time revising, I think she'll be glad of the break come the Summer. Thank you :)
Deleteexams are hard going, but as you say she will be fine. Good grief - another one with kids with activities nearly every day after school - laughed at the thought of you "lurking" A very nice church spire
ReplyDeleteIt's exhausting isn't it, I only have 3/4 days with no activities or clubs, Tuesdays as of next week we will have two after school clubs, two swimming lessons and a tae kwon-do lesson! The things we do for them, haha.
DeleteI really miss lurking in car parks, 2 of my 4 boys played football from 1997 to 2010
ReplyDeleteMy husband is one of the coaches so he's there every week, it's not often I get to watch training but I do enjoy getting to matches where I am able :)
DeleteLooks like you all have been busy.....That stir fry looks really good x
ReplyDeleteIt has been a busy week indeed - relieved it's the weekend! Thank you, tasted good too!
DeleteOuxh - hope your heel is better soon, love your night time shots. #365
ReplyDeleteThank you! Me too, can't believe how much they still hurt a week later!
DeleteI used to love black coffee with a ton of sugar - now I can't drink it all :( I love the church spire and I'm chuckling at you lurking int the car park ;) Good luck with the running :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I'm surprised how much I like it actually, I have had it black on occasion but always with sugar, now it's just black but I rather enjoy it! Keeps me awake anyway... haha! Yes, didn't look too weird skulking around in my parka!
DeleteA very healthy start to the year. Lots of sporting activities. Good ;uck with the running x
ReplyDeleteIt's going well, I hope I can keep up the momentum! Thank you :)

Thank you! I'm really enjoying it, more than I thought I would to be completely honest. It's not been easy but I am getting there.
DeleteWow, you've stopped having milk *and* sugar in your coffee? Brave! I've gone the other way and started replacing milk with double cream!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with #WeekendBlogHop!
I have! Ooh I do love a bit of double cream in my coffee - I'll treat myself to one once I have lost the weight I think! :)
DeleteWell done on your healthy start - I am starting mine in earnest this week! Also, well done on the football training/hanging around - I really don't like that sort of thing when it is this cold!! #Project365
