I am a mum of five, and trying to share myself between them is a challenge on its own, so remembering that I am a person who needs time and space for myself often gets lost in the chaos of everyday life. The children are constantly busy with school, work, after school clubs and sport & leisure activities and I am running around with them getting them from A-B, making sure they have everything they need for a particular activity on a particular day.
I then realised that actually I didn't have everything that I needed.
Joining Project 6 Pack and going to classes has not only helped me lose weight and tone up like I wanted and needed to do, it has given me back a bit of my head space, too. Just 30-45 minutes or so a day to get my blood pumping and spend some time with actual grown ups, who are there for some of the same reasons that I am. Health and fitness is great, but it has done wonders for my mental health too. It has improved my moods and general well being and in all honesty this is the best I think I have ever felt.
Joining a group on my own where I didn't really know anyone and making myself go has been a huge step for me and I am really proud of myself for sticking with it and making the progress that I have in such a short space of time. It's not all about what it says on the scale, it goes so far beyond that. I love how exercise and the classes make me feel and it is absolutely the best thing I have ever done for myself.
My motivation is feeling as well as seeing the results of my hard work, but my latest victory has been the purchase of some new jeans - in a very comfortable size 10.
I'm this week's #LoudnProud host, and we would love to hear all about your special moments and achievements so please do share your posts below. Feel free to grab the badge, we'd love it if you could visit others & share the linky love - thanks! The linky closes at Midnight on Sunday, & next week will be hosted by the lovely NotMyYearOff.

You should be proud, especially choosing to take that step by yourself! I am reluctant to join any keep fit classes with friends let alone by myself. Your results are amazing and I think it's time to change your name to 'Hot mama owl' :)
ReplyDeleteHaha - thank you so much! x
DeleteThat's brilliant! It's good to hear that it's about fitness and wellbeing and not 'just' weight. Well done to you, no wonder you're proud :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It absolutely is, it feels so good to have some of myself back. I look and feel better than I think I ever have!
DeleteWell done! You should be proud of yourself, I've recently lost some weight, become heathier and I love keeping fit now. Like you say it's a bit of time to yourself each week and does help you to feel better, so glad you are enjoying it! #wellbeingwednesday
ReplyDeleteIt really is, it makes all the difference I think. Well done you, too! Thank you
DeleteWay to go this is amazing. I've loved watching your progress over the months and although I have lost the weight, I'm certainly not fit. Proud of you x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Susan, and well done on your weightloss xx
DeleteThat's fantastic! Definitely something to be proud of Julie. You've done so well. I'm noticing a little bit of weight creeping on and I don't like it :(
ReplyDeleteThank you Suzanne! It is so easily done though isn't it, I got to the point where I knew I was unhappy and wanted to change - just wish I had done it sooner!
DeleteA brilliant achievement, I think it is so important to feel good about ourselves physically and as you say, it also gives you a bit of time to yourself too.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! Thank you so much
DeleteWell done for sticking to your fitness plan, and for all your achievements! Of course you must be proud! Thanks for joining #FitnessTuesday too!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I am having awful trouble trying to get your badge for #fitnesstuesday off your page, it won't let me copy and paste the code for some reason! x
