Here we are - seven months after starting over and taking better care of myself I have finally reached my target weight. In January I was unsure what my ultimate goal would be, but I had a vague goal in mind - I knew that I would know when I got there. And I have. It's here. I'm here - 25kg (55lb), 39 inches (99cm) and five whole dress sizes later.
Project 6 Pack are taking a break through August ready to relaunch in September with a new timetable and I'm excited to continue training with them. I've also started going to group training sessions at the gym with Laura once a week when I'm able and I am loving using the weights, I want to concentrate on toning more now - particularly my legs & I'd love a more rounded bum (never did I ever expect to hear myself say that...).
Now begins the new phase in my lifestyle change - maintenance. This is equally as hard as losing weight, if not more so - learning not to become complacent, to continue with my training and learning to balance what I'm eating with how much exercise I am doing. Losing the weight is one thing, but keeping it off and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and fitness regime is another. I fully intend to continue my Project 6 Pack membership and I am looking forward to the next stage. You can't reach your goal and stop, and expect to stay the same - it takes commitment and dedication to maintain your weight and fitness levels. I don't want any of my previous bad habits to creep back in.
Happiness & contentment isn't a dress size or a number on the scales, but about how you feel about yourself. Losing the weight, improving my fitness and being able to walk into a shop & buy whatever I like and feel good wearing it has made all of the difference to my wellbeing. I am happier and more confident as well as healthier & fitter. It was my decision to overhaul my lifestyle, for ME, and it was easily the best decision I ever made.
Wow well done you, you can really see such a difference in how you look and can just sense the enthusiasm coming through. And it's so good you're doing it as a long term. People really do fall off the wagon when it's a quick intense few weeks. This sounds like it really becomes part of your life.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, it really is my life now - I agree, I think thinking of it as a diet is completely the wrong approach and concentrating on making the changes long term is what makes it successful x
DeleteCongratulations on reaching your goal! What you've achieved is incredible, no wonder you're happy!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's been a long road but worth every step it took to get here!
DeleteSuch an incredible job and as you and the others say, it's so much better to do it gradually and sensibly like you've done, that's already half the battle to being able to maintain it X
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes absolutely - it's been a steep learning curve!
DeleteWow. What an amazing achievement. I am in awe! If nothing else inspires me to keep going this week, it's reading this! Congratulations & thank you for linking up to #BloggingtoJogging :) x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much I really appreciate that, best of luck with reaching your goals!
DeleteCongratulations on your weight loss ... you look amazing and I'm glad you feel better in yourself xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you very much - I feel like a whole new person!
DeleteWow Congratulations and well done to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much :)
DeleteI agree, maintenance is the hard part - particularly when you have kids that usually take priority. It's great to hear how much better you feel (and obvs you look great too!). #BloggingToJogging
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, it can be very easy to slip back in to bad habits especially when you're busy chasing after kids. Managing the summer holidays and maintaining my training and diet has been tricky but I am keeping it steady so far!
DeleteWell done!!!! That is simply wonderful. I have a similar goal, and you've given me the kick up the bum to get there. :) #weightlosswednesday
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, good luck with reaching your own goals!
DeleteWell done on hitting target, you look amazing!
ReplyDeleteMaintaining can be v.difficult, good luck.

So far so good, it's tricky but I think I am getting the hang of it! Thank you :)
DeleteHuge congrats to you and you really do look amazing. Maintenance is hard, sometimes harder than the loss itself but I am really looking forward to reading about your journey :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to #weighloseorstay
Thank you, I think I am just about finding the balance now but it is taking some getting used to - I'm struggling not to under-eat if anything.
DeleteIncredible effort. I'm in the 'Not really sure where/how to start' stage.
ReplyDeleteI think the key for me was finding something that I really enjoyed. I found out about Project 6 Pack through a friend on Facebook and spoke to her about it before going along and signing up. It took me about three weeks of hating it to realise that actually I loved it and I felt so much better about myself after every class. It is still challenging but I look forward to my workouts and I really like the diet overhaul too - it's a whole new lifestyle.
DeleteYou look awesome and have done so well since January! You are right though it takes all that time to build it up and no time at all to lose it. Silly body. Well done xx #bloggingtojogging
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteWell done you!!! Youve worked so hard for your goal. Keep up the good work & I hope you can maintain things, I'm sure you will. Thanks for joining up with #FitnessFriday xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, it's been a challenge but I love it so much now - I feel like a completely new person
DeleteGood lord! That is simply amazing chick! I am so incredibly happy for you and proud, what an amazing achievement! It has been great reading about your progress, especially with P6P! You enjoy a little break until September, you deserve it! A 55lb loss is ridiculously impressive... alongside 5 dress sizes... you rock lady! Thank you so much for linking up with #WeightLossWednesday and hope you can join in again soon! Sim xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. The Summer break has been lovely actually, I'm still going to a couple of classes/PT sessions a week and of course continuing with my usual diet and I'm pleased to say I haven't gained or lost a single pound in the last two weeks so I must be doing something right! I'm looking forward to the new timetable from September and working on toning next!
